About the Business Line Environment

Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.
Job Summary We are looking to recruit an experienced stakeholder engagement professional to join AECOM’s fast growing stakeholder engagement services team. The team has won a number of exciting new commissions and is looking to recruit into the Bristol office.

This role will principally involve management and delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation for a range of major infrastructure projects, with an initial focus on road and rail schemes.

There will also be a need to assist with the growth of stakeholder engagement service capabilities across AECOM, with a focus on providing advice and support to project teams working in a variety of sectors across the UK.

AECOM’s specialist stakeholder engagement team has a track record of delivering effective and innovative engagement and consultation for a number of high-profile projects across the UK. We work across a number of sectors including transport, energy, water and waste infrastructure as well as commercial and residential development. We also provide communications and engagement support around local planning policy development and a range of environmental initiatives.

Our role is to build understanding of proposals with all stakeholders, seek their views in a timely manner to inform policy, plan or design development and, where possible, develop consensus to help minimise objections. We work to engage and build effective working relationships with local authorities, land/property owners, technical stakeholders as well as potentially directly affected businesses, local communities, locally elected representatives, specialist interest groups and the media.

Job Responsibilities:
The person undertaking this role will be responsible for:
management and day-to-day delivery of stakeholder engagement and consultation services on infrastructure projects;
provision of specialist stakeholder communications and engagement to projects across AECOM’s UK business;
support in identifying new business opportunities for the provision of stakeholder engagement services and leadership of associated proposal development; and
take a leading role in the ongoing proactive promotion of AECOM’s stakeholder engagement services to both internal and external audiences.

Working arrangements:
We are currently recruiting primarily to support the delivery of a number of new commissions on major infrastructure projects. The role will be based in our Bristol office but will require a willingness to travel to other AECOM and client offices. Some home working to maximise work efficiency and reduce time lost to travel can be included in the working arrangements

Minimum Requirements
Experience of communications, ideally delivering stakeholder engagement for infrastructure development projects;
Experience of delivering stakeholder engagement and consultation for transport infrastructure projects would be advantageous;
Passionate about delivering best practice principles for stakeholder engagement;
Proven project management skills and ability to help others develop;

Preferred Qualifications No specific qualifications required. Relevant experience is key criteria
