Amazon is looking for motivated individuals with strong analytical skills, obsessed by operations excellence and data driven to join our AMZL UK team.

Amazon operates a wide and complex fulfillment network across the UK and in Europe. 200MM+ shipments are ordered on and shipped each year, from 22+ Amazon sites (across EU) , several external fulfillment facilities and Delivery stations; are delivered to 20MM+ addresses across the UK and more internationally.

AMZL-UK Transport Configuration / Planning Analyst (Business Analyst) is responsible in setting up new services, delivery stations, fulfilment services (both internal and external) and in translating business requirements into technical dependencies and implementing the required technical changes through modifying the configuration elements by providing a path to deliver shipments to customer on time versus the promise we give them and in the most efficient way.

This experience will provide a rare and unique opportunity to learn from a fast operation organization seeking customer service excellence. You will have the opportunity to work on a project that could involve implementing new systems or tools or be focused on process improvement. You will have the opportunity to get a broad comprehension of our technology systems in the areas of Amazon Fulfillment, and Transportation Systems to drive deep and meaningful improvements in our transportation network. You will contribute to critical projects that remove waste from our processes, and engage in strategically critical projects across Europe with our Fulfillment Centers and Last mile Operations.

• Work closely with Amazon Logistics Delivery Station Managers and Operations Managers to understand business requirements. Identify and implement technical configuration changes required to enable the execution of the upcoming business requirements and initiatives in a timely manner.
• Configure the inputs driving shipping decisions for packages in our AMZL-UK transportation Network
• Demonstrate expertise in working to tight deadlines and ensure that all parties are providing key information on time to enable timely execution.
• Lead periodical audits of configuration features and ensure systems required to deliver the intended operational effect are in place.
• Work with UK wide Network Planning Managers and Configuration Managers and execute holiday configurations, Q4 configurations and all other configuration aspects for Amazon Logistics.
• Develop an in depth understand of configuration aspects and become an expert who can take ownership of configuration elements for Amazon Logistics.
• Ensure accurate and timeliness deployment of configuration tasks and effective communication to stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to streamline processes and reduce waste
• Maintain/update internal documentation for internal training and reference

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Transportation/Supply Chain/Operations discipline or 2 years Amazon experience.
• Strong Math, Logical, Problem Solving skills
• Possess good business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
• Strong analytical abilities, and high proficiency creating and managing advanced models using SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Analyst work background
• Conceptual understanding of systems and configuration management

Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced Degree, technical or business
· Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Transportation background
· Experience working with IT professionals and process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
