Sr. Art Director, Global Prime Now

Prime Now is Amazon’s ultra-fast shopping service, providing one- and two-hour delivery on tens of thousands of items, exclusively as a benefit to Prime members. It is currently available in cities across the Unites States, Europe, and Japan, and is continuing to expand.

The Amazon Prime Now team is seeking a talented and passionate Sr. Art Director to join our growing Design group. You will create strong brand touch-points, build and govern visual identity systems and deliver original creative work.

Because the scope of this position extends across the global Prime Now brand, the ability to balance high-level, holistic reason with detail-oriented design is imperative. You must be a critical thinker with a good design sense, have a strong brand background, and an instinct for making things simple. You will work closely with product management, marketing, and other designers to create and bring ideas to life that instantiate the brand and drive new business for Prime Now.

Responsibilities include:
· Build and maintain the global Prime Now brand identity system.
· Create world-class designs that support and reinforce the Prime Now brand and business objectives across all touch-points.
· Analyze marketing and user experience challenges and create on-brand design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements.
· Use diverse inputs to identify and define exciting new concepts, opportunities, and customer problems.
· Lead brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
· Work with, and lead 3rd parties, to create designs that successfully exemplify the Prime Now brand.
· Present design work to design teams, marketing teams, and executives for review and feedback.
· Lead and mentor junior designers.
· Collaborate with quickly and effectively with a global Marketing organization.
· Stay on the cutting edge of what’s new in design, identifying opportunities to and experimenting with applying new methods and concepts to customer problems.
· Contribute to group’s best practices for design.

· 6+ years of experience as an Art Director, Brand Designer or similar role.
· A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating strong design skills and branding experience across a range of brands and touch-points.
· Experience creating designs for a variety of mediums.
· Knowledge of HTML and CSS, printing process, materials and proofing methods.
· Strong understanding of the principles of design, typography, composition, photography and color for print.
· Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
· Ability to work with technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Expert skill level with standard design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
· Experience working in a start-up style environment, where rapid iteration is encouraged.
· Bachelor's degree in design or related field required.
· Understanding of brand and visual system development.


· Experience designing for global brands.
· Experience with product photography and the ability to manage photo shoots.
· Experience in a highly agile environment.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. Fluent in English with a proven track record of presenting to and influencing management.
· Working Knowledge of Sketch.
