Amazon Logistics is looking to hire an analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Regional Sortation Manager that can drive innovation and execution in transportation networks. As a member of the UK Transportation team you will be responsible for optimising the transportation/sortation and delivery network to meet with the strategic network plan.

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate requires strong team leadership experience in the transportation delivery industry or a similar fast-paced logistics/distribution environment as you will be:

· Maximise the weekly, monthly and annual performance of the operation through strong leadership, effective operational performance and a motivated workforce.
· Daily management of an outbound parcel delivery operation.
Management, control and direction of receiving, parcel sortation, and delivery functions within a delivery depot environment.
· Continuously improve efficiency and the level of service to our customers, exceed productivity goals, develop and maintain a stable delivery operations team.
· Manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels, process change initiatives to enable the operation to attain Amazon’s Business Plan.
· Customer management.
· Developing and maintaining a strong culture of health and safety practices and initiatives including ensuring depot practices are to compliant with legislation and policy through for example monitoring, auditing and reviewing practices on site.
· Participate from time to time in cross-functional Process and Business Improvement projects within the operation and the broader Amazon EU Operations network.
· The ideal candidate requires experience working as a manager in the transportation delivery industry and has expertise and a solid understanding of carrier operations.
· Business judgment with a track record of successfully delivering quantifiable results.
· Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, an ability to influence others, and exceptional organizational skills are musts.
· Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support scope of requirements and prioritize.
· Demonstrate the ability to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and manipulate data
· Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality.
· An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial
· Bias for action - this role is fundamentally about managing and driving production within specified area/s and process improvement through efficiency and change
· Able and willing to work to flexible schedules/ shifts and commit the time required to get the job done
· Excel and data analysis skills are required.
· Excellent communication skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Significant Operations team leadership experience in a similar fast-paced process driven manufacturing, production or distribution/logistics environment and possess expertise and a solid understanding of carrier operations.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels
· Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and influence work behaviors
· Practiced working knowledge of Lean techniques such as Kaizen or Six Sigma
· Demonstrated problem solving and analytical capability
· Demonstrate the ability to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and manipulate data
· Able and willing to work to flexible schedules/ shifts and commit the time required to get the job done
· Bias for action - this role is fundamentally about managing and driving production and process improvement through efficiency and change.
· Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is highly desirable
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s (or higher) degree essential
