Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Client Support Specialist within our Process Automation business unit based in Crawley, West Sussex.

Your responsibilities:
Prepare technically compliant proposals for instrumentation products and their associated items in response to enquiries from our customers or Sales Engineers.

Participate in the proposals team, assigned to the specific enquiry.

Through ongoing in-house training acquire and maintain a working knowledge and application of the Invensys range of instrumentation products.

Recognize when there is a need for a strategic pricing and bring it to the attention of the sales management.

Identify opportunities for selling other Schneider Electric products (cross selling) and liaise with the relevant personnel to ensure that a solution is provided.

Co-ordinate with Sales Teams and other involved parties including product and industry experts, contract management, supply chain, engineering etc.

Generate final customer proposal, utilizing PC based tools, to develop a proposal that is both accurate and a good sales document.

Participate with other departments to gather accurate information required for the proposal.

Respond to customer questions regarding the proposal and ensure that answers are provided in a timely fashion.

May be required to support Field Sales staff on visits to customers to assist with product demonstrations, clarification meetings and contribute to presentations.

Ensure that all outstanding client questions and issues are resolved before a successful proposal is transferred to the order department for ordering.

Contribute to internal review and feedback meetings as required.

Develop professional expertise and proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job.

Participate in proposal team administration and reporting functions.

Provide support to other company employees and also the company’s partners as required.


Ideally 3-5 years’ experience as an instrument engineer or other technical role with some experience in sales.
The ability to communicate in spoken and written French and German highly desirable.
(If you are fluent in French and have strong administration and customer service experience then training in the technical aspects may be available)
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Must possess sound working knowledge of Excel and Word
A natural team player, capable of contributing to each situation
A high level of ethics and values in both personal and professional conduct
A personal style which inspires trust and confidence and strives towards excellence
Capable of understanding and following company processes and procedures, but willing to make suggestions for improvement
