Food Risk Business Analyst

We are looking for a dynamic, organised self-starter to join our European Food Safety Team as Food Risk Business Analyst. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical and communication skills, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities, as well as having a well-rounded technical background in software and IT systems management. They will be mature and have good judgment; negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. They will need the ability to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities, but able to roll up their sleeves, dig in and get the job done. The role needs a results-oriented analytical approach to drive important decisions, measure progress and improve risk management and/or the customer experience. Finally they need to have confidence in informing high-impact customer decisions across Food Safety, Legal, FC Operations and Business Development, working closely with senior leaders.

You are not satisfied understanding the issues, instead preferring to take action, communicate your recommendations effectively and drive change. Working in a fast-paced environment, managing through uncertainty, and networking across a range of teams to weave the right data picture are challenges that energize you.

In this position, the candidate will:

· Support the EU Food Safety team needs by developing local solutions to risk management solutions, reporting from multiple internal and external sources, and data management and by leveraging the dedicated resources based within the Seattle based WW Food Safety team
· Work across the teams to define and initiate outsourced, C-Ops based or automation projects that scale our ability to source and deliver products with world-class safety standards within our expanding business model.
· Dive into complex multiple stakeholder and system challenges and solve for multiple term solutions in co-ordination with the food safety risk factors agreed with the team.
· Build and maintain recurring metrics and reports
· Ad hoc data retrieval and analysis using relational databases, Excel and other data management systems
· Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of projects and initiatives with data


· Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Finance or related field from an accredited institution
· Strong experience as a Business/Financial Analyst, BI Engineer or Systems Analyst, preferably in an internet-based company with large, complex data sources
· Proficient Oracle SQL, MySQL skills and mastery of Excel, Access
· Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause/ analyses
· Detail-oriented, self-motivated and driving follow-through on projects
· High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
· High quality written and verbal communication style, with the a track record of explain technical situations to non-technical people and via versa
· Experience working in a lean, successful start-up or on a new product team where continuous innovation is desired and ambiguity is the norm
· Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and tactically.
· A proven track record of delivering initiatives from conception through completion on time, within budget and on or beyond scope.


· Master’s degree, MBA or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business field.
· Six sigma certified or equivalent
· Ability to work effectively with Data Engineers and BI Engineers to mine the right data sources efficiently and accurately
· A clear passion for learning new business analysis techniques independently and continuously
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses
· Ability to prioritize and able to look at a wide array of choices to identify what truly matters.
