EMEA Enterprise Lead

Would you like to own driving the strategy for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the largest and most innovative global enterprises in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa? Would you like to lead a cross-functional team focused on increasing enterprise adoption of cloud computing by engaging with C-level executives and influencers at all levels? Do you have the leadership, business acumen, technical depth, and communication skills needed to help further establish Amazon as the leader in enterprise cloud computing?

The ideal candidate will possess a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the highest levels of large enterprises, as well as having the technical depth to easily communicate the benefits of cloud computing to IT architects, application analysts, and enterprise security and compliance teams. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of global businesses, and be deeply familiar with complex, legacy IT environments including applications, middleware, storage, networks, information security, and operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Serve as the leader of a Enterprise Business Development team focused on driving the global strategies of AWS for large enterprise customers.
• Identify and develop enterprise-focused use cases, and associated capability (reference implementations, architectures, white papers, web site real estate, etc.). This would include developing industry-specific messaging and collateral materials that effectively communicate the AWS value proposition for enterprise cloud computing, including datacenter-to-cloud extension and migration.
• Ensure the AWS organization as a whole are well positioned and skilled to engage in enterprises.
• Work closely with leadership of extended teams to ensure we are hiring appropriately for the enterprise market, that they have the appropriate training and are delivering the right messaging.
• Lead the capture and utilization of the “voice of the enterprise” in EMEA with respect to the AWS technology platform, including owning taking that input and driving any required change within the product teams.
• Understand the unique technical requirements of enterprise customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for our largest and most complex customers.
• Establish and own the tracking of all global enterprise related metrics and goals, including the consolidated global reporting of all AWS enterprise activity.
• Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to engaging with enterprise customers.
• Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services that results in accelerated customer adoption and increased pipeline.


• The right person will be technical and analytical, will be capable of understanding the complexities of large enterprise IT environments, and have demonstrated proficiency as a leader in complex IT organizations.
• Must have 10-15 years of extensive enterprise business development experience.
• Extensive leadership experience working in the enterprise IT industry is required, either as a vendor or as an enterprise customer.
• Technical knowledge of enterprise IT is required, including: database systems, tiered storage architectures, server and desktop virtualization, data center operations, network security, etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to understand current and future customer needs and present AWS technical benefits.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, including strategic partners and ISVs.
• Technical degree required; MBA, Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math background highly desired.


· Experience working within the technology industry is highly desired.
