Principle Engineer: Dams and Hydropower

About the Business Line Water

We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
Job Summary The main purpose of this role is to lead our Dams and Hydropower team, and forms part of our succession planning. The role is open to suitably qualified international applicants.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Team leader for Dams & Hydropower.
Multidisciplinary dam engineering.
Project Manager.
Acting as Approved Professional Person (APP), Chief Design Engineer, and Water Resources Engineer as required
Initiation and finalisation of all project phases including reports, engineering drawings, specifications and construction contracts as well as inspection and evaluation reports.
Client liaison on projects.
Business development for Dams & Hydropower.
Drafting and delivering strategic plans for development of Dams & Hydropower.
Mentoring younger dam and hydropower engineers.
Acting on Panels of Experts on projects as required.
Contributor to the global Dam Engineering & Hydropower industry by actively development of national and international papers and related bulletins.

Minimum Requirements Experience:
Minimum 20 years’ relevant experience in dam engineering and or hydropower engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in project management and liaison with clients.

Connected in the global dam industry with strong profile recognised by clients.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Post-graduate qualification in dam engineering will be advantageous.
Approved Professional Person (APP).
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng with ECSA or equivalent).
