Infrastructure Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Infrastructure Engineer to secure a position within our fantastic and growing organization based in London. As a leading provider of software systems across the world we will give the Infrastructure Engineer the chance to work on a range of infrastructure and software projects in a vibrant and challenging environment.

This is a challenging network support role. You will have had experience as an Infrastructure/Network Engineer, be comfortable working with others and engaging with business to deliver solutions.

The successful applicant will be ambitious, highly motivated and have superb communications skills.

Responsibilities & Activities

· Actively engage with the business to understand both current and future IT systems requirements and that requirements fall within corporate policy.
· Build and develop systems to requirements and ensure projects are managed efficiently.
· Configure, maintain and monitor existing infrastructure and ensure that it is functioning correctly.
· Ensure day-to-day maintenance tasks are performed, i.e backups, monitoring systems, and reporting functions.
· Perform Fault analysis on systems issues and implement long-term solution and avoid quick fixes.
· Ensure that support requests are dealt within SLA’s and that work is prioritized based on them.
· Maintain accurate and detailed systems documentation.
· Assist with the implementation of policy and strategy for information technology and computer systems as directed by the manager to ensure that staff and computer systems comply with legislative and organisational requirements.
· Actively participate in and contribute to an ongoing process of supervision, team meetings, general staff meetings and professional development strategies to ensure your work is consistent with organisational goals and to provide input using your technical expertise.
· Perform other duties to assist with the work of the unit as requested by the Manager (or designate).


· Strong Networking skills with a CCNA.
· Cisco ASA command line and VPN configuration.
· Scripting Knowledge (i.e BASH / Perl / Python).
· Excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to foresee problems before they occur.
· The ability to encounter new technologies and run with them.
· Proven high-level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate to users at all levels.
· Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
· Proactive, result oriented and resilient with an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
Technical knowledge of a wide range of systems and technologies.


· Experience administering Nagios / MRTG / Cacti.
· Experience with Linux.
· Experience administering SAN solutions (i.e. EMC / Netapp).
· Knowledge of Amazon AWS services.
· VMWare administration experience.
· Basic experience with Windows Server technologies.
