Job Summary URS has an opening for an Automotive Painter in Kuwait.

Completely knowledgeable and able to paint or remove paint from contract units in accordance with customer specifications. Understands and applies various corrosion control methods and technologies. Position reports to the Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:
Coats surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices. Removes old paint from aircraft or vehicles, using liquid paint remover and scraper or plastic and sand media blasting techniques. Smooths surface with sandpaper and steel wool. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils. Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Provides corrosion control methods to customer specifications. Paints and redecorates facilities, vehicles, equipment and fixtures. Work involves the following: knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for difference applications; preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices; and applying paint with spray gun or brush. May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency. In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Provides on-site guidance and direction to painters. Reviews work of subordinates regularly, keeping each appraised of his/her performance. Responsible for all tools and materials, required for assigned tasks .Enforce and maintain safety precautions / regulations for all craftsmen. Assists in scheduling upcoming work and ensuring proper staging of materials for such jobs.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Five (5) years recent experience in the maintenance, overhaul and painting and de-painting of contract unit equipment is essential.
Must have normal color vision.
Medical examination required.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
This position may require the ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance.
