You will be part of a team responsible for the successful delivery of our design commissions for our major clients including Network Rail, contractors (in a design and build context) and other agencies such as Train Operators, Councils, Passenger Transport Executives and academic institutions.

Current multidisciplinary projects include Transpennine Route Upgrade – West of Leeds, major depot remodelling, the Intercity Express Programme (IEP), Paddington to Old Oak Common Remodelling GRIP Stage 5-8 for Carillion, Market Harborough Line Speed and Station Improvements Project GRIP 4-8 for Carillion, and numerous GRIP Stage 1-4 commissions for Network Rail, TfGM and TfN.

Role

• Ensuring excellence in the support of the commercial elements of multidisciplinary rail tenders, contracts and project delivery

• Ensuring collaborative engagement and management of our supply chain, contract management and governance.

• Sharing knowledge, best practice and innovation across our business, providing guidance and feedback with other related disciplines and skills, locally and across the UK.

• Managing your own personal development utilising our in house and external training opportunities

Requirements and skills

Experience in proactively managing the commercial aspects of multidisciplinary rail design projects, including change control, invoicing, credit control and project forecasting and reporting processes.

Competence in change control, forecasting and Earned Value reporting.

Competence in the tracking and understanding of project design costs, evaluation and invoicing for Lump Sum, Time Basis and Target Cost contracts.

Computer literate with experience of software tools (Excel, Word, scheduling, etc.) for dash-boarding and summary task reporting

Knowledge of industry standard forms of contract and conditions of engagement for Arup services and sub-consultants for Rail projects.

Experience in preparing the financial / commercial elements of tender submissions.

Understanding and application of risk assessment processes and the management of contingency.

Knowledge of finance systems and reports

• An appropriate HND, university degree or equivalent qualification.

• An associate member of the RICS / APM would be an advantage.
