Senior Financial Accountant-Treasury

Purpose of Role

The Financial Reporting team is part of the Controller’s Group. Senior Financial Accountant has the responsibility to maintain the accounts of complex Treasury / central entities review the accounts and reporting of the companies, expected to participate in or lead projects that has impact on the group accounts, participation in the preparation of Diageo’s group accounts. Compliance with policies and controls need to be ensured.

Duties

•This role supports the accurate and timely reporting of external financial statements and reports by:
•Support and prepare of accounting papers supporting Diageo’s accounting treatment on complex accounting issues
•Involvement in Transactional FX, Net Investment hedging documentation process
•Perform Market value calculation of Financial instruments and prepare related operational tasks
•Control the accurate, effective and timely reporting of Treasury entities
•Understand and monitor all treasury transactions (and their accounting impacts) flowing through the companies.
•Provide supporting of statutory accounts of certain Treasury entities
•Producing treasury and other sections of the Group’s annual report and half year results
•Participating in the preparation of the Group Annual Report
•Liaise with Group tax regarding treasury/financial reporting issues/projects.
•Support the improvement and rationalization of accounting and reporting of the entities
•Support the Financial Reporting Junior Manager / Financial Reporting Manager in projects and business as usual tasks
•Ensure compliance with relevant controls
•Liaise with external auditors and service providers

Requirements

• University or college degree in economics preferably in finance/accounting
• At least 2-3 years working experience within accounting and reporting (preferably GA, RTR experience)
• Experience in Big4 is a huge advantage
• Experience with projects is an advantage
•Excellent business English
•Able to prioritize
•Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently
•Ability to engage and motivate others to drive solution
•Accountable - takes responsibility for own work
