Tooling Engineer

Role Purpose
Direct support for tooling with sound comprehensive knowledge of designing techniques needed within a fast moving manufacturing environment. Responsible for developing designs for tools and tooling systems, structures and plant arrangements with minimum supervision. Reviews engineering drawing, CAD/graphics, computer model work and reading of drawings. Plans and executes the presentation of these in graphic form or detailed models. Has good knowledge of industry and regulated standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities
Develops concepts and finished designs for tools and tooling systems, structures and plant arrangements with supervision.
Plans and executes the presentation of arrangements in graphic form or detailed models
Plans, organizes and coordinates own work.
Collects, reads, interprets and uses related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors or outside sources.
Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, fabrication and satisfactory completion.
Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion.
Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
Assembles bid, approval and fabrication issue drawing packages with supervision.
Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by designers and Drafters.
Research design options.
Review shop drawings.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Required.

Formal Qualifications

MUST BE A U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices, and min. 3 years of CATIA V5 experience;
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and public speaking skills.
Experience in multiple discipline projects
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite


Specific Vision abilities required; including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus with a specific requirement for corrected vision at 20/25 or better;
Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facilities and corporation to obtain information needed to perform job functions;
Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., using proper lifting techniques
