Quality Specialist

Role Purpose
To ensure integrity of data developed within the quality organization conforms to established company, international and governmental regulatory standards, agency guidelines, and customer requirements thereby maintaining quality assurance policies, processes, procedures, metrics and controls that enable success of these processes.

Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan and oversee the development of operational plans or procedures and coordinate with customer and supplier representatives to ensure satisfactory quality system performance.
- Resolve issues at department or company level.
- Analyze and compile performance reports and process improvement statistics in order to determine and improve process capability; develop statistical process improvement procedures.
- Develop data for Corrective Action Review across the organization. (additions)
- Act as liaison between quality, engineering, tooling and other support functions.
- Subject matter expert for metric driven data for quality and material review board engineering.
- Develop, collect, and analyze data and information from a variety of sources.
- Perform such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses and reporting; development of quality tools, techniques and methods; process improvements; maintenance documents and records; preventive and corrective actions; customer interface, liaison and support.
- Develop, deploy, monitor, and analyze the results of statistical data and process control methodologies.
- Coordinate the development and deployment of operational and corrective action plans, procedures, and milestone schedules in response to data and analysis.
- Perform investigation as required of customer complaints and escapes including root cause and corrective action facilitation.
- Provide metrics, data and reports to various internal and external customers as required to meet demands of the business.
- Perform and lead such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyzes and reporting; development of quality tools, techniques and methods.
- Provide technical expertise to company employees, suppliers, customers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide education and coaching on the company’s quality system.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Required Qualifications

- Associates Degree in Business, Engineering or other technical field; combination of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

- 3+ years’ experience in quality or compliance.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and government contracting.
- U.S. Person.

Additional Qualifications

- IT background preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good written, oral communication skills.
- Able to develop daily report, develop metrics, design and implement dashboards that allow for ease of access to metrics.
- Technical writing skills
- Good knowledge in PL/SQL statements, HTML, CSS, VBA and JavaScript.
Computer literate in statistical software, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
