Methods Engineer

We’re looking for a Methods Engineer to work at our Telford factor, which focusses primarily on manufacturing our world class medium voltage switchgear. It’s a complex process, with twenty work areas undertaking related but not integrated steps. This job will focus on Continuous Improvement for the plant. Working closely with Production Management, you’ll lead the implementation of improvement projects, ensuring products are produced with the highest level of safety quality and efficiency.

We’ll give you all the support you need, but we’re keen to give you the autonomy to develop the job in the way you see fit. So it’s essential that you’re a proactive person, a strong communicator and a problem solver, who can work with management to identify key areas and provide solutions.

This is a great opportunity to play a key part within one of our core UK operations, but also to be part of an internal international network dedicated to continuous improvement. Excellent opportunities for progression exist.
Qualifications

Skills and experience required:
Comprehensive understanding of general engineering principles and machine and tool functions/limitations.
Understanding of Lean, One piece flow manufacturing, WIP reduction.
Familiar with modern manufacturing project management philosophies.
PC skills (Office package).
Ability to train workforce in new manufacturing process methods.
Experience of project management.
Ability to write reports and make presentations to management

Qualifications
HNC / Degree in Engineering ideal (not essential).
