Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate/Assistant Electrical ICA Engineer to join our well-established and experienced Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) team in our centrally located Glasgow office.
Working as a member of M&E team and a wider multidisciplinary design team, you will be involved in multiple arrays of projects ranging in Water and Wastewater sectors, initially under the supervision of a Principal/Senior electrical engineer. The main requirements of this role are:
Clear understanding of electrical design concepts and a sound knowledge of Instrumentation (flow, level, analytical instruments, etc), Motor Control Centre, PLC/SCADA System.
Undertaking Site surveys and reporting on existing electrical installations, through assisting with the production of detailed electrical installation designs and procurement documentation.
The design and specification of electrical control systems, including switchgear and motor control centre, instrumentation, and cabling detailed designs
Good interpersonal Skills including report writing and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn and develop skills to achieve Charter-ship via a recognised accredited Graduate training scheme.

To be considered for this role, as a minimum you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the following:
LV electrical design knowledge to BS7671; Instrumentation background;
The use of P&IDs to create equipment, instrumentation, cable and load schedules
Electrical single line diagrams, block cabling, cable routing, and associated diagrams
Cable sizing, and experience of using cable design software will be beneficial

In addition to above, Candidates should also be able to demonstrate good client facing manner, and be diligent, confident and highly motivated; the ability to communicate effectively in the English language (both verbally and good report writing);The ability to work flexibly and to integrate their work with other discipline areas and a focus on delivering best value for AECOM’s clients; A good technical understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles, and a good problem solving approach including use a mathematical approach to electrical problems for calculation where appropriate; Able to use good engineering practices for design implementation, specifically consideration to generation arrangements and safe construction practises and the ability to travel and visit operational and construction sites as required;

Post graduate degree educated in electrical engineering or similar / related discipline. (Note: a primary degree qualification in a relevant discipline is a minimum requirement)
Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) or similar;
