Customer Marketing Executive (Junior)

Diageo has established a strategic customer marketing function in each market, containing of a Commercial Planning & Activation team that is responsible for the development and execution of the commercial activations at customers ensuring brilliant execution of our plans and strong return on investment. Furthermore, ongoing performance management of the commercial calendar driving our plans to deliver the AOP. The CP&A executive Junior will play a critical role in executing the channel plan in the market
An effective Commercial Planning & Activation function will enable:
•More effective plans that are more joined up improving the shopper and customer experience.
•Deeper levels of channel & customer expertise, enabling higher standards of execution.
•Pricing outcomes (mix and promo) more actively and rigorously managed improving performance potential.
•Ultimately bigger outcomes and improved performance for Diageo and our customers.

Purpose of Role

The objective of the CP&A Executive Junior is to have in-depth knowledge of the distribution chain, execution models and customers to deliver brilliant execution of the growth drivers in the market, based on clear understanding of the channel dynamics, consumer & customer insights.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

Commercial Planning
•Develops and Uses understanding of the channel, its consumer & customer and the categories and support build commercial plan for your customer(s) (as part of the wider channel plan) and drive the execution.
•Create alignment across the consumer and customer/sales agendas
Execution
•Operates with a clear set of priorities, adjusting for opportunities and obstacles
•Execute all aspects of programme activation with rigorous attention to detail (agency briefing, KPI setting, persuasive sell, material development, field sales briefing), in line with European Execution calendar and optimized Create To Execute model
•Ability and confidence to make the necessary informed recommendations required to ensure activities are successfully delivered and adjusted/ course-corrected as required
Promotional effectiveness
•Guarantees Measurement & Evaluation for own projects
•Has analytical skills and is able to spot patterns and opportunities from multiple data sources which are converted quickly into actionable implications
•Identify value creating activities that maximise ROI and share growth and optimize/adjust promotional plan for your customer based on these insights
Builds relationships
•Ownership of the day-to-day Sales & Agency relationships through effective persuasion and conflict management/resolution skills
•Build strong relationships in order to create synergies & efficiencies.
•Close cooperation with the Catdev team and sales teams in market and with central marketing teams in Europe.

Qualifications and experience required

•Master, ideally in marketing or economics
•Approx. 2-3 years working experience in a commercial FMCG environment, ideally in both sales and marketing/trade marketing
•Significant channel experience
•Obsessed by execution
•Positive energy, solution oriented, self-confident in own area, strong team player, committed to own development, pro-active, structured way of working, analytical skills
•Can create synergies across our consumer and customer agenda
•Mastery in English (verbal & written).
