DESCRIPTION

The Retail Vendor Recruitment (RVR) team on-boards vendors in order to drive selection growth for the EU Retail business. While we are currently focused on small to medium-sized companies within Hardlines and Consumables, we intend to expand our services and over time evolve into a centralized, scalable on-boarding function for Retail overall. In order to get there we will have to demonstrate that we raise the bar on on-boarding excellence – which will require a sustained and dedicated effort by every single RVR country team.

As a result, managing the UK team of more than 30 Vendor Managers and Team Leads requires a leader with a strong sense of ownership and sharp business acumen. He or she will demonstrate above-average skills on multiple dimensions: energizing large teams, building relationships across a highly matrixed organization, negotiating commercial terms, analyzing complex data sets and managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. He or she acts as an owner and coach who is determined to build a team of leaders.

As the Senior Manager, Retail Vendor Recruitment, UK, you will:
· Add incremental selection to the EU Retail platform.
· Lead a team of leaders, with each of them managing a small group of vendor managers towards ambitious on-boarding targets.
· Liaise with peers in DE and FRITES on lead management and on-boarding best practices.
· Drive the technological innovation of Retail Systems via the MVR PM team in Luxembourg.
· Collaborate with Finance on Operational Planning processes.
· Report on selection growth and other key metrics to senior Retail stakeholders.
· Provide strategic guidance to team members and stakeholders alike.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of relevant ecommerce experience, with at least five years of managing teams of five people or more.
· He or she brings first-hand negotiation experience to the role, ideally acquired in a sales or business development context.
· Building strong relationships with stakeholders comes naturally to him or her.
· Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to derive actionable insights from large amounts of data.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills; at ease when dealing with senior management.
· Strong bias for action, able to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a lean work environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Able to understand technical issues and their implications.
· Advanced Excel skills preferable.
