Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts (that are typically being defined in real-time), and, above all else, is a passionate about data and analytics. In this role you will be part of a business team to produce a full 360 degree view of our customers, analyze the results, work with business leaders to form strategic opinions, and then publish the data back out to all interested teams. Often times, the ideal set of data will not be available and you'll have to think creatively about what is available in order to drive results. Amazon has a culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable.

Key Responsibilities:
· Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
· Reporting of key insight trends, using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines.
· Retrieving and analysing data using Oracle SQL, Excel, and other data management systems
· Ensuring data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
· Developing and proposing new metrics, recommending strategies to stakeholders to improve business results, and working across our organization to make actionable intelligence available to business stakeholders.
· Supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of projects and initiatives.
· Apply data mining, quantitative analysis, and statistics to understand how our customers interact with our business and how our business impacts Amazon.
· Work closely with engineering teams to design and build scalable data solutions to support fast growth and continually align the BI roadmap to the needs of the business.
· Serve as the SME to the full suite of Amazon’s data tools and resources.
· Communicate insights and recommendations to senior management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

For this role we require:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline.
· Relevant experience in a business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology, or experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics solutions
· Extensive years of experience in data mining, ETL/SQL, etc. and using databases in a business environment.
· Ability to build complex dashboards using Excel and other tools
· Strong statistical skills
· Proficiency at querying and creating simple relational databases

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Further qualifications would be a plus:
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
· Experience of advanced modelling techniques (e.g. regression, segmentation)
· Ability to script in Python, Perl, or Bash
