Weekend Logistics Coordinator

Role Purpose
To arrange transport in line with procedures of GKN Freight Services and according to needs and objectives of sister companies and customers
To be part of a team to help grow the GKN Freight Services Van Wert office, in line with customer's needs, making sure customer service is carried out to the highest standards.
Input of carrier invoices to allow proper billing of customer, both internal and external

Key Responsibilities
Ensure customer satisfaction through managing their shipments in the correct way and in accordance to the timeframe specified by the customer.
Ensure charging out of all consignments and invoice checking is carried out before issuing to customer.
Quote prices to potential and existing customers as and when required within agreed timescale and within Limits of Authority, when needed.
Pass on other types of inquiry, not related to the service of the Van Wert office, to other appropriate Operations Departments
Ensure jobs are charged out within timescales required as per agreements with customer.
Provide cover to colleagues for other business within Van Wert Operations as and when required
Order execution tasks including input of booking details
Charge and cost reserves in order to facilitate invoicing to customer and payment to supplier.
Ensure that all information and workflow status is communicated daily between supervisor and team members.
Assist in ensuring that targets are met.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Knowledge of Domestic transportation
Knowledge of International transportation
Knowledge of transport documentation
Working knowledge of carrier invoices & billing procedures
Global Geographical knowledge
Knowledge of computer systems, Excel and Word
Good telephone manner
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
Ability to keep customers and management informed of any issues
Clear communicator
Willingness to work irregular hours
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
