Researcher - Bid Studio

Birmingham, United Kingdom

Job Summary

Our Transportation team in Birmingham is seeking two Researchers to join their Bid Studio. Both positions will provide essential information to Bid Managers and subject matter experts, strengthening the bid process.

AECOM is a premier, fully integrated professional and technical services firm positioned to design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets around the world for public- and private-sector clients. With over 90,000 employees — including architects, engineers, designers, planners, scientists and management and construction services professionals — serving clients in over 150 countries around the world, AECOM is ranked as the #1 engineering design firm by revenue in Engineering News-Record magazine’s annual industry rankings, and has been recognised by Fortune magazine as a ‘World’s Most Admired Company.’ The firm is a leader in all of the key markets it serves, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy, oil and gas, water, high-rise buildings and government. AECOM provides a blend of global reach, local knowledge, innovation and technical excellence in delivering customised and creative solutions that meet the needs of clients’ projects.

Background to the role

AECOM has set up a ‘Bid Studio’ in Birmingham to serve as its major bids team. As a centre of excellence, it manages the region’s largest and most strategic bids across both established and emerging markets. This has initially been established for Civil Infrastructure, where there is the greatest number of major bids, but the aim is to extend to cover bids across all sectors in the UK and across EMIA.

To support our growth plans, we are recruiting a Researcher to be based in our centrally-located Birmingham office. This person will support the bid planning stage by gathering information about our key clients and markets. This involves looking externally at our clients, competitors and partners to improve our access to information and industry data.
