JW Marketing Manager Physical Availability

The role
This role has responsibility for leading our global Physical Availability Roadmap, driving market engagement and tangibly raising the physical availability execution standards for Johnnie Walker.

There are a number of opportunities to 'change the game' within this role. Key responsibilities include:

  • The development of new breakthrough execution standards (establishing our new visual identity) to meet emerging consumer trends, critically how we bring to life the striding man as our icon of progress, at scale across the globe, through both customer and experiential 3rd spaces.

  • The development of our portfolio, particularly leading the agenda to create consistent breakthroughs in small-formats and multipacks for gifting, ensuring we have the right shopper offer at all price points and variants.

  • You will also play a leadership role across senior stakeholders at a global / regional & local level, both setting the agenda and influencing /aligning markets. You will would need to work collaboratively with cross functional market (including commercial, customer marketing & marketing functions), agency and brand teams.

Your profile

  • The ideal candidate substantial commercial, marketing & global experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in the consumer packaged goods industry and/or drinks industry.

  • High level of expertise & experience in commercial marketing including: complete P&L management, sales, consumer research, strategic planning and marketing/customer execution. Career path will demonstrate a strong performance track record and well developed breadth in functional commercial competencies.

  • Influential people skills to lead in the business: Creating alignment & followership amongst senior stakeholders, Innovation, Sales and Supply to orchestrate and deliver an agenda that meets their business needs and game changing work to deliver transformational growth.

  • Able to build strong relationships with broad spectrum of people and align them through to delivery. Engenders total business ownership and trust.

  • Able to frame and turn possibilities into commercial reality: Instinctive feel for what will work with consumer & customers and creates commercially viable options to meet these. Can turn exciting possibilities into commercial reality.

  • Managing complexity: Demonstrated track record of managing multiple priorities & stakeholders, and in juggling multiple projects and a complex project pipeline. Needs to demonstrate developed marketing instinct & judgement.

The role is based in Amsterdam, but with global responsibility, this will require excellent skills on teleconference and videoconference calls and a willingness to travel as required (anticipated to be no more than 20% of role). You will report into the Global Customer Marketing & Innovation Director for Johnnie Walker.
