Divisional Quality Systems Assurance (Europe)

Role Purpose
To lead the process of GKNA sites/units with robust Quality Assurance systems, in order to reduce risk to the business and enabling Operation Excellence in standardised business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Having a high level of awareness of International Aerospace standards (in particular AS/EN/JISQ 9100) and how they are effectively deployued and assured within businesses you will be responsible for;

Developing, implementing and continually improving a structured system of QualitySystem Assurance (likely to include a combination of Self-Assessments, ‘Peer Reviews’ and 3rd Party Reviews) that test and assure compliance to the Divisional requirements set (APMS) & industry standards, including conducting those assessments.

Ensuring that Self-assessments & Peer Reviews add more benefit than the time they consume through aiding the business to implement improvements through utilising our collective GKN knowledge and expertise, in effect using the Peer Review mechanism to aid in the standardisation of business processes.

Providing direction & support (such as audit, implementation templates, process model, etc.) to sites that are implementing revisions to existing standards or new standards.

Capturing & sharing best practice in relation to QMS/ business processes from within the division.

Assisting sites strengthen weaknesses through the successful application of best practice from known, existing processes within the group or industry.

Providing expertise, understanding and guidance/interpretation of the standards Aerospace sites comply to (such as AS/EN9100, Part 21 etc.).
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Essential Skills
AS9100 rev D Lead Auditor accreditation (training can be provided for the right candidate)
Extensive knowledge of Quality Management System documentation, standards and requirements assessed though interview questions.
Knowledge of the GKN Aerospace Lifecycle Model. Someone creative with good attention to detail, extremely capable with processing items, designing processes, with an understanding of the standards, rules and regulations we operate our businesses under.
An ability to see where synergies exist between sites, business streams etc. and have the personal capabilities to extract and utilise to build strong processes.

Desirable Skills
Knowledge Of GKN Plc, GKN Aerospace, it’s Business Streams and their activities. Network of people across the Division and Group. Understanding of policy deployment & Business Process Excellence from GKN Lean
