You will play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up. You will use a wide range of technologies, programming languages and systems. Amazon Development Centre London is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join the Partner Integration & Distribution Team and work with the A-list of home entertainment manufacturers to bring Amazon Video (AV) to the latest and greatest home entertainment devices. If you like getting yours hands dirty, working with cutting edge entertainment hardware, and shipping product, then this is the place to be. The team has already launched the AV app on a range of living room devices from Sony, Samsung and LG amongst others. Consumer equipment manufacturers continue to innovate with the launch of 4K, HDR, curved screens, wand controllers and virtual reality and you will be responsible for bringing those innovations to our AV customers.

As an SDE on the team, you will lead technical design reviews, learn from senior engineers, and iterate quickly in an Agile environment in the newly formed Amazon Video Android TV team. You will interact directly with partners such as Sony, nVidia, and Phillips to deliver an amazing Amazon Video living room experience.

The Distribution team is uniquely placed within Amazon Video; we are at the pivot between partners and customers and the whole technology stack that makes Amazon Video work on living room devices. We get to dive deep into the technology, we get to work with partners around the world and we get to see the direct impact our developments can make. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
· Highly proficient in at least one of Java, C++, C#, Objective-C.
· Familiar with one or more of JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python.
· Algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
· Object-oriented development and design patterns.
· OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
· Highly pragmatic; we use technology to solve real-world problems expediently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience with embedded systems will be valuable
· Experience with object-oriented design
· Experience with data structures
· Experience with algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
· Experience with CI/CD and test automation
· Solid years of experience with Android.
