HR Manager - Talent and Leadership Development


Trollhattan, Sweden

Role Purpose
To manage processes and programmes that validate, develop and move talent strategically across AES including PDP and OPP. To contribute to the creation of and lead the implementation of the leadership development strategy and interventions to ensure sufficient, capable talent in the leadership pipeline to meet business needs. To support employee engagement activities within defined areas. To act as HR Business Partner to Programmes, Commercial and Finance.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Management

Lead the OPP process across AES, collaborating with HR partners globally to produce the overall OPP for AES.

Develop processes and programmes for the development and retention of strategic talent to support OPP plans.

Co-ordinate the activities to support the AES Talent Board Reviews and divisional talent matching forums

Integrate Talent Management activities with PDP and OPP processes, ensuring:

The right people are identified for transition programmes through OPP.

Personal and career development options are integrated with PDP to ensure effective follow through of agreed development activities.

The movement and retention of programme participants are tracked through OPP.

Coaching and Mentoring programmes.

Active validation and management of agreed talent pools.

Performance Management

Lead the deployment of the changes to the GKN PDP, including systems changes, process changes and training for managers on performance management.

Leadership Development

Create and implement the leadership development plan ensuring alignment to the AES OPP.

Deploy the GKN leadership competency framework.

Design and develop, innovative and high impact leadership development processes, programmes and development activities, for all levels of leaders, to develop the breadth, depth and diversity of global leadership talent to meet business needs.

Lead the execution of the Group leadership development and transition programmes.

Assure effective linkage between other areas of HR and be a collaborative partner with Divisional HR and other senior business colleagues.

Lead the on-going deployment of EngageMe, educating and coaching managers as required.

HR Business Partner

Generalist HR Support

Manage the full employment life cycle for employees based in global functions

Support the implementation of group wide HR projects and initiatives as and when required

Be a proactive internal business partner
Share best practice within the AES HR team

Deploy the GKN Code across Global Functions
Functional Development

Lead functional development for defined functions, to include:

Delivering the OPP, and executing the resulting plans, in collaboration/co-ordination with the Business Units

Headcount & budget management

Global standardisation of job roles

Recruitment for key global positions

Deployment of functional Career Frameworks

Co-ordination of functional training programmes and professional development in order to enhance the competence of the functions

Employee engagement activities across global functions, in collaboration / co-ordination with the Business Units

Support the creation of a culture of continuous improvement within defined functions

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Previous experience in generalist or talent focussed HR roles

Leadership development

Assessment for development

Working globally


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders

Project management

Succession and talent management

Fully proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook

University Degree in appropriate discipline (or equivalent)

Professional HR qualification
