Community Networking Lead

Role Purpose
GKN Aerospace is a successful global aerospace engineering organisation, designing and manufacturing complex, high-performance, high-value assemblies for the world’s civil and military aircraft producers. GKN Aerospace employs over 19,000 people worldwide (US, Sweden, Netherland, UK, Germany and India).

As part of GKN’s Digital Agenda, GKN Aerospace has identified a global initiative to develop, deploy and maintain a Technology Knowledge System (TKS). As part of this initiative, this role focusses on establishing effective collaboration across the GKN enterprise and providing global accessibility to key expert and expert communities.

Key success criteria for this role include:

successful global implementation of an effective enterprise wide Networking and community system (People, Process and IT)

cultural change with by clear evidence of utilisation of the collaboration systems and positive feedback from the site leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
To promote, develop, deliver and maintain Community Networking Strategy and system and ensure its alignment with TKS Strategies/Objectives.

Interpret the direction of strategy/planning and creative leads to build an effective and coherent social networking system (Q&A, Forum, Social Networking etc) within the constraints of the business IT systems

Lead the creation and presentation of social media strategy and integrated marketing campaigns

Communicate and coordinate business teams ensuring that community strategy supports brand goals and objectives

Establish the right level of divisional and local organisation to ensure effective support to the system, agreeing roles and responsibilities with local management

Continuously monitor, evolve and Moderate the community system to ensure uptake

Establish long lasting relationships with Technical network to build and enforce effective collaborative practices and Social Media Guidelines

Utilising social listening tools to generate insights on Community Networking utilisation, Summarizing insights and conversations to create actionable, client-facing reports that lead to optimisation of systems and processes

Review user generated commands and posts in a quick and timely manner

Respond to comments, when appropriate, in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience

Moderate User Generated Content, where applicable, to internal and client stakeholders

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Formal Qualifications

Project Management Qualification

Change Management Qualification

Engineering or Technology Degree (Software, IT, etc)

Eligible for SC Security clearance.

Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required

Qualifications

Relevant Software Engineering Degree/Diploma as minimum

Community Networking / monitoring qualification an advantage

Change Management Qualification an advantage

Eligible for SC Security clearance.

Experience

Actively participates in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, commenting, etc.

Demonstrated ability to produce community management guidelines and documents that reflects understanding and implementation of the role of social media and its effects

Experience of networking implementation into a business setting, particularly engineering or manufacturing

Capabilities

Able to author, construct & assess quality of key Community Networking deliverables

Provide expert leadership to the GKN global business on social networking solutions

Able to work collaboratively, across geographical and cultural boundaries

Able to perform Business data analytics and articulate and manage System level requirements

Travel Requirements

Travel to GKN global Sites in Sweden, US and Netherlands (mainly)
