Job Summary
The Architectural Inspector will report directly to the Senior Architect and is responsible for overseeing all Architectural aspects of the project, which includes but is not limited to the following:
Internal partitions
Floor, wall & ceiling finishes
Doors, windows & ironmongery
Cladding & curtain walling
Fixtures & fittings

Duties & Responsibilities:
Review and certify daily records of the performed works, as well as labour and equipment returns, material deliveries, tests performed and safety problems for supplier(s) and contractor(s) engaged on the Project.
Review all Contractor submissions to ensure that the submittals are compliant with the Contract Documents.
Review all submittals including shop drawings and make recommendations on the same..
Monitoring and/or verification to ensure the alignment, location, grade, level and plumb work of all elements both vertically and horizontally as per the Contract Documents.
Following the receipt of the Contractor’s notices of work being ready for inspection or of tests to be carried out, ensure attendance but not later than 24 hours from receipt of the Contractor’s notices.
Supervise the installation of works by the Contractor as per the Contract Documents, by proper material tracking, testing, appropriate work installations, and accurate management of Contractor’s methods.
Identify and report unacceptable work to the supplier(s) and Contractor(s) as early as possible.
Review test results submitted by the Contractor and or their third party testing agencies in order to verify adherence to quality standards and conformance with Contract Documents.
Sound technical knowledge and experience with common construction materials in design and construction.
Ability to navigate CAD and REVIT software models to extract and present relevant information.
Surveillance of the QC procedures and organisation of the Contractor to ensure the effectiveness of such procedures in maintaining the quality of work performed.
Promote a policy of continuous improvement of the quality system and ensure that the quality system reflects the approved processes and is flexible to new processes and change.
Supervise all testing and commissioning activities required for the Project and ensure that they are carried out without undue delay and review and approve the commissioning authority firm submitted by the Contractor as per the Contract Documents.
Review and accept construction checklists provided by the commissioning authority firm.
Monitoring the Contractor’s activities, ensuring that they are in compliance with statutory safety requirements, SC safety requirements, guidelines and policies of the relevant local authorities and industry best practice. This shall include establishing a reporting program, collecting regular reports from the Contractors, and storing/filing those records and reports.
Compile defect lists for all trades and verify that defects are rectified, carrying out further inspection as necessary to ensure that the work is completed and rectified in accordance with the Contract Documents, providing updates in the weekly construction and or QA/QC meetings.
Supervise and monitor the rectification of defects.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum 4 years of construction supervision experience. Experience within the Middle East and on complex buildings/stadia is advantageous.

Specific skills required:

Experience of facade construction techniques.
Knowledge of Qatar Constructions Standards, QCDD and NFPA.
Demonstrate a basic level of literacy in leading computer aided design packages including AutoCAD & Revit.
Read, understand and implement information from detail architectural drawings.
Demonstrate a good level of literacy in MS office suite (MS Word, Excel and PDF in particular).
Strong English spoken and written communication skills.
Qatar driving license an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or bachelor degree in Architecture / Engineering or similar equivalent.
