Innovation Commercialisation Manager - Beer & Prem

Innovation is at the heart of the GB business & we currently account for half of Innovation revenue across Europe.

The single largest contributor to our Innovation growth will be beer where we will accelerate the transformation of our business in this space over the next 3 years. Through continued explosion of HH13 and the future success of a diverse range of world class beers under the new Open Gate Brewery brand our beer innovation will be transformed.

This role is pivotal to our future innovation success as it will be responsible for all beer innovation outside of HH13 and also the newest launches in the Premix & Pouches space e.g. Baileys Iced Coffee and canned cocktails.

Key outcomes & KPI's:

Leadership of Innovation Commercialisation:

  • Lead the delivery of Innovation projects across GB customer base.

  • Work closely alongside sales teams to ensure all innovation is commercialised at scale.

  • Work with Europe Innovation and Marketing teams to ensure clear, ongoing communication of new launches: status updates, brand knowledge and training.

  • Support Innovation Project Manager & Marketing Manager to inspire the Commercial Teams, and Customers to flawlessly execute our Innovation launches and point of purchase marketing programmes.

  • Work in conjunction with Marketing to ensure Innovation programmes are embedded and delivered.

  • Support the innovation process and strongly lead the GB elements Gate papers.

  • Work with the Europe Innovation team and Marketing team to create excellent launch and nurture plans, ensuring exit strategies are also included.

  • Stakeholder Management across functions & levels of seniority to ensure Innovation Plans are embedded into the business 'rhythm'.

  • Help creation and delivery of comprehensive 'Best in Class' commercial toolkits in a timely manner

  • Help create & deliver great customer proposals (Persuasive Sells, QDVPPP, etc) based on sound insights.

  • Close collaboration with commercial teams - customer collaboration is at the heart of the agenda

  • Search and spin opportunities across categories are commercialised with pace and excellence.

  • Nurture & maintain our in-market Innovation until 5 years beyond launch.

Innovation Performance

  • Support the Marketing Manager to deliver the Innovation AOP.

  • Manage the innovation pipeline and activity calendar.

  • Help the sales team to ensure accurate forecasting for new Innovation brands

  • Set and lead ongoing tracking of KPIs.

  • Lead Performance conversations to affect positive change and growth.

  • Troubleshoot issues, support interventions when needed at pace.

  • Develop mitigation plans to ensure delivery of Innovation AOP.

Purpose of the role

Innovation Commercialisation Manager required to take responsibility for translating Diageo's innovation pipeline into a commercial reality and launching to perfection.

Qualifications and experience required

  • Very commercially astute and understands key commercial drivers.

  • Competent in P&L management.

  • Strong consumer and customer marketing/sales capabilities

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Engaging presentation capability.

  • Highly skilled in fostering commitment and creating alignment across consumer and customer agenda.

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and at pace with multiple projects.

  • Sufficient gravitas to present to and influence key customers at a senior level
