The AMRC Training Centre is seen as the provider of choice for many employers for the engineering and manufacturing sector, ranging from small to large blue chip companies. The Training Centre has a strong, dynamic, focused team, continually
driving the business forward. The AMRC Training Centre has been operating for 3 years and has grown from 150 apprentices to 649 to date and continues to grow each year.

You will have some experience of working in an office and be ready to take on challenges of a busy department. On completion of your Level 3 Apprenticeship and training, you will be expected to work independently and part of a team that contributes to the Centres main data and office functions.

Your role will mainly be based on reception carrying out administration duties and supporting all areas of the training centre. This will consist of, dealing with phone calls, sending attendance registers to companies on a weekly basis, and 6 weekly
progress reviews to companies, scanning certificates into the system and contacting learners to collect. You will also support the data inputting team and input visits, registrations, GCSE results, along with registering & claiming for learner certificates.

You will cover for the main exam Invigilator when they are on annual leave.
You will have some experience in the use of databases and spread sheets, good standard of IT skills, to include, basic navigation of web pages, use of Microsoft Office, as well as the ability to send/receive emails including attachments and use
Google calendar to set daily work requirements. You will need to demonstrate, effective communication skills, both written and verbal, communicating to employers and staff at all levels the organisation’s strategic plan and their personal contribution towards it.

On completion of your level 3 qualification, there will be opportunities for further CPD.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Your role will be to cover reception and support the team with the following duties:

• Respond to face to face, telephone and email enquiries from companies, learners, staff and general public, in a polite and courteous manner, ensuring an excellent service is given.

• Undertake activities in relation to the safe delivery, collection, signing and record keeping of internal and external mail, parcels and packages and the internal delivery and collection to post-points within specific buildings. Ensure security of all mail items whilst stored and in transit.

• Support and provide clerical, data inputting onto Maytas (Learner Management System) and centre functions support for the Training Centre: which includes, but not limiting to, supporting registrations, claiming and pre checks on certificates, scanning certificates and filing.

• Maintain files to the agreed standard and support the department through internal file audits.

• Assist with the meet and greet evening and any other events.

• Set training rooms out at the end of the day for any training courses taking place.

• Responsible for making accurate room bookings for meeting, courses and external events.

• Prioritise work load to ensure deadlines are met.

• Following training – Invigilate exams, this involves: ensuring correct exam documents are present, key codes and the room is set out in exam conditions. Observe that the exam is conducted under exam conditions.
