Design / Configuration Management Engineer

Role Purpose

Engine Development is a department within Engine System Engineering in Trollhättan, Sweden. Our responsibilities cover the design chain of the Military engines as well as stationary gas turbines, with design management, design engineering, configuration management, solid mechanics, aerothermal dynamics and quality assurance. We work with the RM12 Engine powering the Gripen aircraft as well as DR990 and LM1600 stationary gas turbines.

Key Responsibilities
You will be part of a team working with design engineering and configuration management within the technical product support organisation for the RM12 engine. The work tasks include modelling and drafting of jet engine components in order to create or update part definitions for spare part production or repair development. Also creating or updating models to be used in analysis work within technical investigations. You will also be managing design changes as part of the configuration management team.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

As a person, you have a genuine interest in aviation and aerospace propulsion and can combine practical and theoretical knowledge. You have the ability to understand the practical application of the hardware as well as the analytical approach to design, failure modes, design intent etc.
You have good technical understanding of the principles of a jet engine.
You have experience from NX and Teamcenter, preferably from the aerospace industry.
You have good communication skills ability to take lead within improvements programs/tasks.
You have good collaboration skills and see the strengths of working with a team.
You have good knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office

Experience from working with offshore sites such as India is valued, since we are working together with a team of engineers located in our office in Bangalore.
