Operations Manager, Geomatics

Job Summary
Reporting to the UK&I Geomatics Lead and working to support local Survey Leads across our four survey bases, the position of Operations Manager, Geomatics will assist in the safe and effective planning of our site work activities.

The role will have an interface with Project Managers, Technical Leads and the Rail Access Planning team to determine the survey requirements and ensure that a safe methodology is planned and implemented to enable works to be completed.

As part of this role, the Operations Manager will manage all survey vehicles and the inventory of survey equipment. He / she will ensure all maintenance and calibration requirements of survey instrumentation are up to do and that vehicles staff maintain and use vehicle in accordance with company procedure.

The selected candidate will be responsible to maintain communication with the site teams to understand progress and to assist in resolving any issues on site that hinder productivity. He / she will be responsible to motivate site teams to meet required productivity targets.

The Operations Manager will report site progress to Project Teams and work collaboratively with all project stakeholders to ensure a survey output is provided that fully satisfies the project remit.
As required, the Operations Manager will attend site to assist with the mentoring / development of staff and to undertake Site Safety Inspections
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 10 years previous experience of planning, coordinating and managing site survey teams.
A proven and demonstrable understanding of health and safety practices.
A proven and demonstrable understanding of Network Rail standard NR/L2/OHS/019 Issue 9.
General awareness of railway permanent way and civil engineering principles.
Valid UK driving licence.
Network Rail PTS certification.

Preferred Qualifications
Network Rail COSS / PC / SWL certification.
Experience of working for a Network Rail Principal Contractor
