Job Summary
AECOMs Birmingham based ‘Bid Studio’ serves its major bids team and as a centre of excellence, it manages the region’s largest and most strategic bids across both established and emerging markets.

The team leads and supports major bids, managing and responding to the prospect pipeline, producing PQQ and tender submissions, as well as providing training and assistance to all sectors within the UK and, on occasion, in the wider region.

To support our growth plans, we are recruiting a Graphic Designer.

This person will work with the Bid Manager to develop compelling visual material to support our high-quality proposals. He/she will work with End Markets and Subject Matter Experts and support the Bid Studio leadership team.

The Graphic Designer will have a proven design background supporting work winning through cutting edge design and creative support. He/she will be experienced in document production, design packages and desktop publishing. The person’s work will champion consistency through the entire process, helping share lessons learnt and driving continuous improvement in our process and bidding efforts.

Further responsibilities Include;
Creating work winning documentation, packaging, conceptual design, presentations, large format design and smaller bespoke design such as infographics and short run print collateral
Liaising between the Graphic Design Team Leader, Subject Matter Experts and Bid Managers throughout production process, making sure the designs meet the client brief
Regular communication with the Head of Bid Writing and Production
Keep up-to-date on current design trends in packaging for work winning
Adhere to AECOM’s corporate brand guidelines

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role we are looking for an individual with the following competencies

• Excellent understanding of design tools and techniques
• Uses listening and questioning techniques to gain a thorough understanding
• Able to communicate complex concepts clearly and simply in visual form
• Exemplary creative awareness, underpinned by a thoughtful, logical approach
• A proven portfolio of working across a diverse range of media and products from proposals to digital media design, including Adobe digital publishing suite
• Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Able to work under pressure and be flexible with your working hours
• An understanding of printing techniques including liaising with print shops and creating print-ready artwork
