Role Purpose
GKN Aerospace, a world leader in gas turbine component manufacturing and Electro-Chemical Machining (ECM), has an immediate opening for a Contracts Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio. Contracts Manager Overview
Contracts Manager leads and directs the new business proposal development priciing and estimating activities for GKN EPE. Leads and directs the actions necessary to ensure: (1) Bid/No-Bid decisions in accordance with approved Strategic Plan, (2) Development of high quality winning management, technical and pricing strategies. (#) Effective project managment of the proposal development process,(4) Executive review and approval of all propsals in accordance with estbalished processes. (5) Compliance with the GKN Gate Review process (6) RFP's are processed effectively resulting in timely repsonses throughout the Gate Review process, including the submission of on time responses to customers.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Manager Duties and Responsibilities
*Manage Bid/No-Bid process and assciated alignment with Strategic Plan.
*Analyze RFP's and identify all requirements and criteria for evaluation, and prepare and distribute the detailed propsal schedule, outline and guidelines.
*Plan,strategize, and position the proposal, including developing win themes. best value propositions, discriminators and graphics.
*Lead the propsal team, working with the line organization management to identify and assign key task leaders(technical, managment, security, resums, past performance etc.) and alloate proposal personnel and resources.
*Coordinate/develop prcing and financial analysis
*Prepare proposal briefings and board papers for managment review & approval
*Define, document, implement, and support continual proposal process improvement
*Manage the RFQ tracking system for GKN EPE to ensure there is complete and accurate visibility of all active RFP's
*Interface with relevant functions such as Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Production Control and Finace to ensure RFP's are processed in a timely manner.
*Interface with customers to ensue RFP's are complete and where they are not complete, ensure that all revelant information is obtained form the customer to complete the proposal.
*Coordiante entire quotation process including review of Request for Proposals(RFQ"S),check of estimate, compilation of quote letter and follow-up.
*Assist Business Development in the representation of propsals to customers, this could include up front technical and business reviews.
Support Program Managment Launch to production of select new business wins to assure successful transition from development to production(Successful completion of Customer First Article Inspection Reports)
*Proactively manage customer account to ensure achievement of GKN business objectives., Develop/recommend specifc sales and pricing/negotiation objectives/forecasts, lead the execution of authorized sales plans and business administration to acheive or exceed profit volume and other business objectives.
*Develop/recommend prciing strategy based on evaluation of economic conditions, competition, and state/federal legislation that affects the marketability of company fulll service reconditioning. Participate in and is accounable for negotiations on product prcing agreements.
*Ensure the company's committment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherene to various goverment regulations.
*Fully comply with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Governement.
*Some travel may be required in this position.
*Perform other related duties as assigned by management


Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Contracts Manager Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
*BS in engineering, science, or business. Advanced degree in engineering or MBA desirable.
*3-5 years applicable experience with significant exposure in contracting and/or program management fields
*Strategic thinker and problem-solver with excellent analytical presentation and financial analysis skills, able to anticipate and proactively resolve proposal challenges, able to perform a variety of proposal roles initial conception through final delivery and lessons learned, including technical writing, editing, formatting, and production
*Proficient/expert in standard desktop software
*Able to support multiple simultaneous proposals
*Have flexible schedule to meet proposal deadlines; have executive presence
*Excellent oral and written communication skills with outstanding interpersonal skills
* Candidate must be a US citizen or hold a valid Gree
