The taste:
The Credit Control and Customer Finance TL is accountable for the entire channel of customer accounts, including effective cash collection and credit risk management, as well as the timely processing of customer spend related invoices and payments. This role also supports the OTC Manager NAM by using financial knowledge and understanding of the business to contribute to the decision making process, while support the team on SAP development and training to help drive the improvement agenda.
This role requires strong cross functional collaboration across CS, Finance, Sales, OTC governance. S/he is responsible for understanding and identifying improvement opportunities in the OTC processes, involve and co-ordinate different work streams to bring those improvements to life.

How to serve
•Hire, train and constantly develop the right people within his / her team to build and excellent, high performing team with a robust succession plan
•Manage a team of Credit Controllers and Customer Finance Analysts to reach best KPIs
•Coach newcomers and ensure knowledge retention management
•Proactively chase customers to ensure they are paying in line with their agreed payment terms
•Proactive aged debt resolution and cash management of all accounts
•Give input to Cash Forecasting
•Proactively notify management where early warning signs of potential issues on payments and any unusual activities are seen
•Understanding of commercial activities/promotions to be able to verify invoices in accordance with agreements, correctly coded and processed efficiently through the global Diageo OTC and PTP processes
•Develop great relationships with key stakeholders/business partners internally and externally
•Communicate consequences to customers and to market stakeholders about blocked orders; present own decision or recommendation when outside authority limit
•Drive swift resolution of customers’ deductions, aiming to minimise their impact on overdues and trade debtors balance
•Ensure A&P or Rebate credit notes are created on a timely manner, RFT
•Actively looking for and driving simplification opportunities in the NAM credit and customer spend process

•Fluent English and at least one of his/her market specific languages
•Several years of credit control and customer spend experience, ideally gained within a professional/corporate environment
•Ability to negotiate and persuade clients and colleagues at all levels
•Fantastic communication skills, both verbal and written and a professional proactive attitude
•Financial knowledge
•Drive to solve problems
•Solid PC literacy, strong Excel skills required and SAP knowledge
•Able to make decisions independently
•Self-confident, assertive, accurate and pays attention to details
•Line management experience is preferred but not a must
