Working Lead (2nd Shift)

Role Purpose
Our Working Leaders assist and support the manufacture of complex composite parts for the aerospace industry, working on self-directed teams with minimal direct supervision. Following operating procedures, engineering instructions, and other recognized methods, they perform a variety of manufacturing activities involved in the preparation, fabrication and assembly operations to manufacture composite parts and/or assemblies for both production and developmental programs.

Key Responsibilities
•Schedule and monitor daily production needs within the department;
•Ensure product quality and safety standards are maintained:
•Train technicians on standard operations used within the department;
•Follow standard and non-standard operating procedures to assemble, inject, cure, trim, drill, and make simple repairs to composite parts;
•Use hand, power, and machine tools to prepare, and clean process molds, equipment, parts, assemblies, or machinery where needed. Equipment used may include hand knife, automated power or hand cutters, computerized injection equipment, hydraulic presses, cranes or other lifting devices, oven operations, and other shop equipment;
•Capable of providing assistance with process problems, documenting issues effectively and following up on open issues;
•Record operations accurately and legibly on parts where required, including on routing sheets, operation sheets, department documentation, or terminals to ensure ethical recording of part documentation;
•Use simple inspection devices such as, calipers, micrometers, mylars, scales, and gages to ensure quality of work. Candidates will be required to inspect and certify own work to established standards;
•Organize work areas, maintain a clean work environment, plan tasks with team, perform assigned work and meet or exceed cost, quality and schedule needs;
•Other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Requirements

• MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT
•Must have a minimum of 1-3 years manufacturing experience
•Team or Cell Leader experience a plus
•Must have a minimum of a high school diploma.

•Experience with composite material preferred.

Physical
Specific Vision abilities required; including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus with a specific requirement for corrected vision at 20/25 or better;
Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facilities and corporation to obtain information needed to perform job functions;
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity;
Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., using proper lifting techniques.
