Senior Software Development Manager

Amazon Video’s Financial Systems team builds world-class financial software from the ground up to support our expanding global video business. We have an opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join to lead our Content Acquisition Optimization team. They build decision support systems that are used to evaluate global Prime Video content deals valued in the billions.

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading a talented team of software engineers that are responsible for the design, development, testing, and operations of our systems to forecast the popularity of new deals, track the performance of content on the service, and analyze wider market popularity. You will work closely with product management, content acquisition, finance, marketing, and executive teams in Seattle and London.

A successful candidate will have an established background in cluster computing or big data, a keen interest in data science and machine learning as well as a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.


· A degree in Computer Science, a related field, or significant industry experience
· Experience managing, developing, and coaching a team of high caliber software engineers developing complex, world class, and scalable software systems
· A proven track record of high quality software delivery through all phases of the software development life cycle
· Demonstrable experience communicating status, managing expectations, and leading business stakeholders through complex technical decisions


· A masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related hands-on experience with machine learning and/or data science
· Experience in defining a long­-term strategic vision for your team
· Experience developing in at least one of Java, C/C++, Scala or Python
· Experience with Apache Spark or similar cluster computing technology.
