Duties will include assisting with the preparation and setting out of air quality / noise and vibration measurement equipment, undertaking measurements, downloading and analysing data and writing reports. Duties would also include organising monitoring equipment and assisting with a range of office based work. You may also be required to help with other environment teams. There will also be opportunities to undertake desk-based assessments for both air quality and acoustics work dependent on the available project work. All duties will be initially supervised and mentored to provide full on the job training.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to follow instructions appropriate to a task. We are looking for someone who is well-organized and detail oriented, and who can effectively manage their time. Ideally they will have good numerical and report writing skills. We would expect proficiency in personal computer applications, to include Microsoft Word and Excel, with skills in PowerPoint and / or Access, GIS and computer programming an advantage.

As an Air Quality / Acoustics Technician you will have the opportunity to work with senior members of the team on a wide range of project types at all stages of the design and implementation process.

Right from day one, you will be given the opportunity to get stuck in to some important and challenging projects. Working at AECOM means every day is different, and you will be required to use your skills and knowledge to assist in solving problems and providing input in to our projects. You will work in a team to assist in providing technical solutions for our clients, and your day could involve anything from assisting in technical reports, calculations and designs, travelling to and working on site, or participating in workgroup initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
No experience is necessary but the position is ideally suited to graduates without noise and air quality specialism or school leavers with A-Level standard (or equivalent) qualifications who can demonstrate:
• Minimum of 3 A Levels at grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent such as Scottish Standard Grade or Junior Certificate in Ireland) including Mathematics and /or Science, Music, Physics
• Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions appropriate to a task.
• Well-organized and detail oriented
• Effective time management
• Strong numerical and report writing skills.
• Proficiency in personal computer applications, to include Microsoft Word and Excel, with skills in PowerPoint and / or Access, GIS and computer programming an advantage.
• Demonstrate an interest in and a desire to pursue a career in Environmental Science.
• Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities.
• Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic
• Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organize parts of projects
• English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings and reports
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Full, clean driving licence.
