Amazon Publishing - Production Manager Intern

Amazon Publishing is the full-service publishing arm of Amazon. Our mission is to invent new and better ways to connect authors and readers.

The Amazon Publishing team is looking for a results-oriented Production Manager Intern to support the identification, definition and delivery of process and tools improvements for the production of Amazon Publishing titles, to identify specific projects aimed to improve Production Management team efficiency and to optimize scheduling and task prioritization.
The Production Manager Intern will also support the international production team in the creation of its physical and e-books in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be well-organized and metrics-driven, with a strong bias for action.

He/she will also have daily contact with content and metadata, and will handle uploading, troubleshooting, and processing metadata and book files through Amazon's internal systems.
This position is based in London (UK).

This position works closely with editorial, marketing, publicity and operations to ensure our books are published on schedule and at the highest quality levels. Additional responsibilities include:
· Focus on the creation of a set of dashboards and reporting aimed to support Production management team strategic planning,
· Overseeing and tracking day-to-day production workflows, ensuring processes are documented, efficient, streamlined, and that books are produced at the highest quality
· Support the creation of reporting for all phases of book production from content receipt to onsite availability
· Ingesting and archiving files using internal systems

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Good analytical abilities, including experience working with MS Office, especially Excel
· Fluency in English
· Currently enrolled in an educational program at bachelor or master level or graduated within the last 12 months


· Experience with publishing/printing operations with a focus on process development and improvement
· Process improvement experience such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and/or Operational Excellence
· Fluency in German or in a second of the following languages: French, Spanish or Italian language.
