That’s why we’re growing our Transportation Planning. And that’s why we need every ounce of your expertise to help drive future success.

Amazon is looking for motivated individuals with strong analytical skills and experience in operations management, process analysis, modeling and redesign, and analytic to join our United Kingdom Transportation team.

As the Transportation Analyst, you will play an integral part in the Transportation Network Planning and Analytics team to simulate and forecast shipment flows from our fulfillment centers through the transportation service providers' network to final delivery to our customers. You will use various tools such as Oracle BI, Tableau, SQL and MS Excel to support business decisions in volume allocation across carriers, in order to fulfill customer orders in the fastest and most economical way. You will be working closely with supply chain management, operations research scientists, network optimization, and carrier management teams. Ultimately, your goal will be to drive projects to realize opportunities while working within a matrix organization to deliver results.
This role calls for an individual who can own all aspects of how transportation impacts customer experience and transportation service providers' experience, measure, determine, then drive any initiatives necessary to improve the experience. It requires high judgment and an ability to balance customer and service provider experience with financial impact. This position offers a broad exposure to various business, financial, and technical teams within Amazon.

The successful candidate will be a person who enjoys and excels at diving into data to analyze root causes and implement long term solutions. He / She will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to create and sustain urgency, and a proven ability to lead large cross-functional projects including communication across all levels and teams in the organization: senior leaders, technical teams, finance, fulfillment, transportation service providers and business leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors / Masters in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field preferred.
· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Must be an independent problem solver that can make high quality judgments and decisions quickly with excellent organization skills.
· Must be detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.
· Excellent written, verbal, listening, communicating, and negotiating skills coupled with ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise is required
· Strong data analysis skills, ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data
· Strong proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel
· Organized, self-starter and a quick learner.
· Experience of dealing with results, metrics and data management and desire to create and build new processes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Advanced knowledge of Excel, Oracle BI, Tableau, R, Python, Visual Basic and/or other programming languages are a plus.
· Six sigma certification will be a plus.
