Collections Operation Project Manager

An ideal candidate has a background in transportation and excellent program management skills. He/she has the ability to lead and mentor people; analyze data and make sound recommendations in an often ambiguous environment. One of the main responsibilities in this role is to standardize and improve processes; while analyzing and eliminating root cause of defects within the current systems. This job will require exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence change at a local (facility) and global level.

Amazon Shipping
Amazon shipping offers Amazon’s logistic capabilities as a product and service. Amazon Shipping’s first customers are MFN Sellers in the UK, offering to ship their domestic volume using our delivery network. We launched in March 2016 and are now building a team to scale Amazon Shipping at pace.

Amazon Logistics is looking to hire an analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Collections Project Manager that can drive innovation and execution in transportation networks. As a member of the UK Amazon Shipping team you will be responsible for optimizing the transportation and delivery network to meet with the strategic network plan.

· Project Managers are the time-keepers for the business, managing the team to ensure we’re on-track to hit the milestones required to build our business.
· Project Managers drive strategy, prioritize projects and feature sets, evaluate and set stakeholders expectations. This requires interaction with Amazon’s operations team; you will work closely with country teams to drive the collection and implementation of requirements, ensure alignment with corporate objectives and contractual obligations and manage the life cycle of various initiatives.
· You will write and review project plans, business cases, perform supporting research and analysis, write specifications, and drive the product development schedule from design to release.
· Liaising and collaborating with external partners will also require negotiation skills.
· Successful candidates will be excellent communicators, highly motivated and effective within distributed teams.

• Ability to scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools we use
• Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs; while measuring and identifying activities performed.
• Ability to develop and share best practices with our Global Transportation Operations teams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years of Amazon experience
• MS Office experience required, with intermediate level in: Excel, SQL or Access
• Experience querying data and developing performance metrics
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• 2+ years’ experience managing or supervising teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent
· Experience of delivering complex cross functional projects in a high growth, complex business
· Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality.
· Exceptional organization skills and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively and problem-solve
· Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills
· Strong executive presentation skills
· Ability to travel in the EU
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel
· Fluent in written and spoken English
· An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial.
