The AMRC with Boeing, established in 2001, has grown to become a world-leading centre of advanced machining and materials research for aerospace and other high-value sectors. It has around 70 industrial members, from global giants such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, to local small businesses that work in supply chains. The Machining Group is part of the AMRC with Boeing and focuses on the research, development and application of state of the art machining technologies.

The group has an excellent track record of developing technology and integrating it into a shop floor environment to demonstrate financial benefit to partners. This ability to translate technological advances into bottom line savings has led to a large growth in demand from especially its aerospace partners and a growing need for skilled engineers with an interest in manufacturing. The Machining Group, Applications team have specialist research and machining expertise in the fields of Gears, Structures, CAM Development, Aerofoils, Casings and Rotating components. The successful applicant will have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience). We have an exciting opportunity as a Project Engineer, where if successful you will be part of the Machining Group Applications team and will focus on one of our core disciplines in either; • Aerofoil machining, • Structures machining and Landing Gear development / machining, • Rotative components machining, • Aerospace Casings machining, • Concept and development Cutting Tool Technologies, • Gears machining. There are currently 10 posts available for the Project Engineer role.
