Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join the team in at our Scarborough plant as a manufacturing Team Leader. At Scarborough we manufacture LV Switchgear products for use in electricity substations around the world. The site is steeped in history, originally commencing manufacturing at that location in 1943. We have enjoyed a market leading positon for many years in the UK as well as successfully exporting globally. This product is arguably one of the biggest success stories of Schneider Electric in the UK and you can be certain that there is a good change that the substation suppling power to your home as you read this will contain a SE product.

YOUR MISSION:
You will be responsible for managing the global performance and continuous improvement of a production cell, ensuring Safety, Quality, Service, Efficiency and people engagement through the organisation of team members in accordance with Schneider Electric policies and procedures.

Acting as a change agent you will drive forward lean and SPS objectives through effective use of the SIM process.

Please note, this role involves shift work.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Relevant experience within a manufacturing environment
Ability to manage a team
Promotes and demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement within the team.
Challenges inappropriate behaviour
Demonstrates potential to be an effective trainer
Good communication and influencing skills
Remains focused in difficult situations
Customer focused – internal and external
· Comprehensive experience in a steel fabrication environment
· Knowledge of CNC punching technologies
· Knowledge of CNC forming technologies
· Knowledge of powder coating paint systems for use with indoor and outdoor equipment including pre-treatment and finishing technologies

Desirable:
Electrical or Electronic Qualifications – City and Guilds / BTEC, ONC, HNC Level apprenticeship
Knowledge of problem solving methodology
Previous team supervisory experience
Understanding of current manufacturing techniques (SPS, SIM, Lean, Kanban etc.)
Knowledge of company policies and procedures
