Software Development Engineer

We are seeking talented software development engineers with an interest in full-stack software engineering to build decision support tools to enable Amazon to acquire better content for Prime Video globally. As an Amazon software engineer in this team you will design, develop, test and deploy new features to solve challenging content selection problems using machine learning and big data techniques. A successful candidate will have strong technical ability, great communication skills and an established background in developing full-stack n-tier systems.


· Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
· Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design.
· Highly proficient in at least one of Java, C++, C#, Objective-C.
· Experience with one or more of JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Python.
· Evidence of working with algorithms, data-structures, efficiency, concurrency, performance optimization.
· Evidence of working with object-oriented development and design patterns.
· OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
· Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture.
· Experience working in an Agile environment.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.


· Linux/UNIX including command-line tools and scripting.
· Web development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
· Databases including SQL, noSQL, schema design and optimization.
· Big data, machine learning and other statistical analysis.
· Highly pragmatic; we use technology to solve real-world problems expediently.
