Business Development Manager - Data Centres - Consultants/Contractors

About us

As an experienced sales professional, you will be the focal point of Schneider Electric to the external market, which in this role will be the consultants and contractors that work for the Data Centre marketplace. You will be expected to develop strong relationships within existing accounts as well as acquiring and growing new accounts for the company. It is therefore essential that you have extensive experience of identifying and influencing senior key decision makers. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing and managing the commercial strategy for the Consultant/Contractor Data Centre segment in the UK for Schneider Electric so contacts or networks in this industry would be highly advantageous.

A track record of selling complex solutions by influencing building design specifications is essential. As the opportunity leader you will need to be able to work your way through the contractual chain and therefore a good understanding of the different stakeholders within a commercial building development is also important. Any direct Data Centre project experience is highly desirable.
We are looking for a strategic account manager who will develop and grow existing accounts as well as identifying new business opportunities. You will therefore be articulate and have the ability to think on your feet.

The successful candidate will be selling the complete portfolio of Schneider Electric by working across our different business units. Experience of selling within a matrix organisation would therefore be beneficial and good internal stakeholder management will also be important. Schneider Electric product knowledge is not essential but experience of the technical knowledge relating to the products is expected.

The successful candidate will be given existing leads to develop and close as well as being expected to uncover new growth opportunities. Schneider Electric has industry leading Data Centre solutions that are seen as highly innovative by many clients and can give salespeople the advantage. This is a national role so some travel will be required.
