As a member of the Video team, you will play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up. You will use a wide range of technologies, programming languages and systems. We'd love to have you join us and build the systems, services, and apps that delight our end users. We build apps for smart TVs, game consoles, and set top boxes. Using advanced machine learning and data mining techniques, we help our customers discover the best movies and TV shows. We measure data in Petabytes and streaming in Exabytes. We obsess over big picture problems like "How do we deliver video that’s more reliable than the internet it’s delivered over?" to low level details like "How do we squeeze maximum performance out of every device we support?" We strive to be on the forefront of new consumer technologies. We build huge scale distributed systems on the AWS cloud to make sure our service is always reliable for our customers. We use computer vision and machine learning techniques to build rich metadata about videos, and partner closely with teams like IMDb to let customers explore deeper into the TV and movies they love. We are looking for a senior leader to grow and scale the engineering and tooling we use to scale our support for Prime Video client applications and resolve customer issues. You will be responsible for managing the video support engineering and tooling organisation, a group of support and software development engineers who focus on detecting, routing, and resolving customer issues as quickly as possible.

As the leader of the Video Clients DevOps organisation, your team will be responsible for:
· Providing insight into customer-facing issues within Amazon Video, including identifying patterns and root causes, scoping and delivering tools for troubleshooting, and expanding our knowledge base.
· Building teams of highly-capable, curious and inventive individuals to build monitoring and analysis, issue enrichment and routing, and customer support workflow tooling and systems to support the video client organisation.
· Participate in video leadership discussions and drive roadmap priorities.
· Setting of SLAs for customer notification, workflow co-ordination, and follow-ups.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
· Highly technical - hands-on development experience is a must.
· Experience managing multiple co-located teams.
· Extensive project leadership experience.
· Skilled in risk management, business risk analysis and making complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions.
· Experience in planning and delivery of enterprise-level software development programs.
· Experience managing agile processes such as Scrum and Kanban
· Experience with service-oriented architectures and web services.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
· Detailed technical knowledge in IP-based engineering & systems
· Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.
· Experience in a 24/7 production environment is a plus.
· Ability to retain composure under stressful conditions, communicate effectively with a wide array of individuals at Amazon, and get the right things done.
· Proven ability to understand large systems, drilling down to code level.
