Graduate Software Development Engineer

Amazon

London, United Kingdom

DESCRIPTION

Team: Alexa Shopping
LOCATION: LONDON, UK

About the role:

We're looking for talented, motivated graduates who can help us create new ways to interact, search and shop. If you are graduating in 2018 and have an interest in developing the next generation of shopping experiences, this is the job for you.

Alexa Shopping enables customers to instantly order whatever they need, by simply interacting with their Smart Devices such as Echo or Fire TV. Our Services allow you to shop, no matter where you are or what you are doing; you can go from 'I want that' to 'that's on the way' in a matter of seconds.

You will define and implement components responsible for providing new and innovative mobile and device experiences for our customers. You will build and operate scalable services while also developing delightful app experiences. You will have an impact on Amazon's new devices and the way shopping is done in the area of IoT. Finally you will have the satisfaction of being able to look back and say you were a key contributor to something special from its earliest stages.

Development Opportunities:

As a new graduate, you will join your team at Alexa Shopping between August and October 2018, and will go through induction training. You will drive your own learning and development with guidance and coaching from your manager, buddy and colleagues around you. You will be working closely with multiple product managers and engineering leaders from partner teams in Amazon Retail and the Alexa organisation.

We will also make sure you’re well rewarded. We offer a competitive salary, stock units and a range of other benefits (including healthcare and an employee discount), in addition to the excellent long-term development prospects you’d expect from one of the world’s leading online retailers.
