EU - Head of Vendor Management, Musical Instruments

We are seeking a dynamic team leader and strategic, customer-focused operator, with a passion for retail and building businesses to fill a challenging Head of Vendor Management role in the EU Musical Instruments business. Working across Amazon’s EU marketplaces, the EU Head of VM will lead a team responsible for designing and implementing innovative, scalable strategies to support the EU Musical Instruments business to achieve our ambitious growth objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a broad set of skills and experience across leadership development, stakeholder management, vendor management, commercial negotiations, process optimisation, analytical and creative problem solving.

You will be working with vendors, project teams and senior stakeholders across the EU and will need to leverage strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, exceptional influencing and leadership capabilities and the ability to operate and problem solve in ambiguity in order to successfully represent and support the business to navigate the complexities of our operations.

The role reports into the Category Leader – PanEU Musical Instrument and is based in our brand new Shoreditch HQ in London.

Your professional challenges will include:
- Designing and leading the vendor management strategy and operations for the PanEU Musical Instruments business
- Inspiring, supporting and developing an exceptional team
- Building and strengthening relationships with our vendors’ senior management teams and facilitating commercial discussions that support and accelerate profitable growth
- Continually improving the businesses processes, tools and reporting to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness across all of the marketplaces in which we operate
- Leveraging a combination of in-depth analysis, strategic insight and big-picture thinking to develop actions that deliver long-term value to the business
- Influencing stakeholders in the wider business to drive greater PanEU alignment and improve the way that we work as a business
- Collaborating with the site merchandising, in-stock and product management teams as well as partners in the US and Asia to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Acting as an ambassador for the business, sharing best practice and learnings across the team and other GLs
This is a senior leadership role within a European growth business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal leader for this role would be someone with a passion for retail and the customer, who has a strong track record of demonstrating Ownership and Bias for Action. Deliver results, Insist on the Highest Standards and Are Right a Lot will also be required in a role in which there is considerable complexity and challenge. Earns Trust will pivotal to building a highly effective and well-directed team. The ability to problem solve and manage in ambiguity is important.
Specific requirements:
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain or Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience, in an e-commerce, retail, key account management or consulting environment, including operating in a senior role within a complex organizational structures
- Ability to work to tight and pressured deadlines and flex to accommodate additional, unforeseen challenges or deliverables
- Exceptional analytical, communication, influencing and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple work-streams with competing priorities
- Experience in building senior level internal and external relationships
- Experience of managing and developing a high performance team
- Passionate self-starter, decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
- Strong commercial acumen and a hands-on, results-driven mentality
- Experienced in influencing cross-functional teams and high desire to work strategically
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and database work
