Job Profile
The position requires a proactive customer driven approach, demonstrating full ownership and responsibility for implementing and completing the design of projects with the customer.

The role involves managing, engineering, planning and resourcing multiple design projects within the Engineering Excellence team.

The role requires close working with the Director of the Engineering Excellence team and the other project engineers, country tendering teams, and brings the opportunity to assist the account and operations managers with additional sales proposals.

Job Responsibilities
Take full commercial and technical ownership of allocated customer projects from receipt of enquiry to the developed design.
•Be the single point of engineering design contact for the customer, including site attendance as required.
•Develop engineering capability of themselves and the wider team.
•Develop and manage the project design programme.
•Update project design forecast each month in line with finance department requirements.
•Provide full commercial management of the design phase of the works.
•Provide Specification, network topologies, points schedules, description of operations, containment drawings and electrical wiring schematics for the respective designs.
•Support to the bid process on the specific designs that have been developed
• Developing and maintaining key customer relationships to deliver increased sales.
•Support to other members of the Operational Team to ensure absences are covered and workload met. Support to other areas of the business as needs dictate.
• To work to existing procedures and assist in setting and establishing new operating procedures.
•Ensure that any new opportunities uncovered are actioned as appropriate and directed to the Commercial Department to increase orders

Qualifications

About You:
The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level in an Engineering Discipline and either be Chartered or are leading to Chartered Engineering Status. You will have the ability to develop procedures and processes and have good leadership skills including, employee mentoring and development and the ability to empower others through delegating responsibility.

You will be computer literate and familiar with relevant software packages, have a good understanding of HVAC and electrical systems, access or other building or electronic control systems and a good understanding of contracting procedures relative to such areas as project correspondence, documentation, timely notice of issues, site reporting, subcontract negotiation, and subcontract administration.
