Tanqueray/Gin Portfolio Strategic Marketing and Innovation Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the fastest growing spirits category: gin and one of the fastest growing brands within it; Tanqueray. Tanqueray is a strategic global brand, with an interesting profile. It is the largest Gin brand in the USA but has a relatively small (but growing) share in Europe, whilst there is significant growth in new markets such as Brazil and Mexico.

Purpose of Role
The role is challenging and high profile as this is a critical phase in the brands development with a new purpose and creative work being developed. The role offers exciting innovation and portfolio development opportunities as Tanqueray is also developing its portfolio proposition, with new a design and range for some variants and a new to world gin innovation proposition in development. You will be responsible for setting the brand and portfolio strategy for the premium plus gin category (brand emphasis Tanqueray) including:

Defining Diageo global growth strategy for premium plus gin, including the roles of Tanqueray, Jinzu and innovation, whilst also developing short and long (5 year) plans for Tanqueray working closely with key markets and commercial teams.
Portfolio strategy, innovation and any recommended M&A activity.
Responsible for development and management of short and long term commercial planning on the gin portfolio.
Work closely with lead and accelerate markets to agree key brand objectives and briefs for advertising, content, experiential, PR, serve and in bar/store visibility and display.
Understand gin category competitive set, strategy and activity and ensure brand remains ahead of key competitors.
Provide overall leadership of the Reserve innovation strategy and agenda.
Lead the development of Innovation across the gin portfolio focusing on the delivery of projects.
Qualifications and experience required

10+ years marketing experience including significant time “in-market”
Demonstrates strategic thinking and translation of strategies into differentiated plans
Proven ability to find penetrating consumer and customer insights.
Demonstrates a restlessness in understanding best practice combined with a successful track record of marketing innovation
Good Relationship skills: proven ability to influence across functions and countries
Authentic communicator with experience of working successfully with multiple stakeholders
