About The Opportunity
This position has overall Operational leadership responsibility for all hardware Value Streams within EPS including logistics and Maintenance.

As a part of the EPS management team the role holder will also provide vision and significant inputs to the BU’s profitable growth strategy.

This leader will make the individuals in the function grow via development of a cross functional leadership culture of continuous improvement and business mindset deployment into the organization and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of EPS Operations in order to:

Create a cost competitive operation

Deliver hardware on time to according to production plans

Manage inventory (WIP)

Develop an organization based on LEAN management with focused on Operational Excellence

Provide leadership, vision and direction to the team and operate within personal Leadership Standard Work, GKN Promises and the GKN Values.

Form an environment where employees are engaged at work.

Create a high performing management team. Select, develop, motivate and manage the performance of management staff.

Assure compliance with GKN policies and regulations.

Ensure that the operations meet Health Safety and Environmental requirements.

Be up to date with competitors Operational performance incl. KPI’s, organization and processes

Understand and anticipate industry trends in manufacturing technologies to ensure employees and internal capability are positioned for future success

Qualifications/experience

Proven experience in building, leading and motivating Operational teams.

Ability to create and deliver a philosophy of leadership, teamwork and problem solving resulting in continuous improvement throughout the organization by focusing on the needs of the customer, empowering employees, and optimizing existing activities in the process.

Track record of successfully managing big operational organizations

Self-directed with effective time management skills, strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work within a global growing organization.

Strong oral and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, cost management skills, and innovative problem solving skills.

Ability to develop and deploy a vision that engages people to deliver

Degree in engineering preferred. Minimum of 10 years applicable industrial experience. Broad operational and technical understanding.
